18 Years to 85 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Self-report daily smokers; 2. Receive nicotine patch treatment; 3. Motivated to quit within the next 30 days; 4. Aged >= 18 years; 5. Able to speak and read Chinese; 6. Not being pregnant.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Contraindication of nicotine patch use; 2. With significant physical illness or severe cognitive impairment that create obstacle for communication, such as blindness or severe hearing loss; 3. Actively psychotic or manic; 4. With active illicit drug use; 5. Alcohol dependence with Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) score 20 or above (World-Health-Organization, 2001); 6. Participation in mindfulness course or having daily mindfulness practice in the previous 12 months; 7. Participation in smoking cessation treatment in the previous 12 months.
