Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were adults aged 20–75 years, overweight or obese (BMI 27–40 kg/m2), and diagnosed with IGT. Glucose tolerance status was defined on the basis of oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) using the World Health Organization criteria
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) diagnosed with type 1 or 2 diabetes, 2) had lower limb ischemia, 3) treated with hypoglycemic drugs or angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor/angiotensin II receptor antagonist during the trial, 4) had chronic diseases or health conditions, 5) had acute illness (i.e. infection), or 6) pregnancy or lactation.
