Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Men who have sex with men in the past 3 months; (2) Men aged 18 years or above; (3) At baseline, men tested negative for Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis at oropharynx, urethra and anorectum; (4) Men co-infected with HIV, syphilis or other STIs are eligible.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Unable to attend the scheduled visits because of travelling plan; (2) Current or long-term use of antibiotics; (3) Men with oral health problems who cannot tolerate lactic acid; (4) Not willing to use the spray within 18 weeks; (5) Men who know someone in their household who is currently enrolled in the study; (6) Currently participating in the other clinical trials.
