Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. At least 2 attending psychiatrists and above were diagnose the participant with major depressive disorder according to the US "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" 5th Edition (DSM-V) clinical structured interview (SCID-5-CV); 2. Aged 18-65 years; 3. Right-handed; 4. The dose and types of antidepressants taken in the past 1 month have not changed significantly.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe suicidal tendency or suicide attempts in the past 2 months; 2. Other mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.); 3. Other systemic diseases requiring medical care and intervention; 4. Hearing impairment and poor vision; 5. Received psychotherapy and other treatments within 3 months (electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, magnetoconvulsive therapy, transcranial direct current); 6. Have a history of alcohol or other substance abuse and dependence; 7. Are trying to conceive, pregnant or breastfeeding; 8. Patients with pacemakers or other metal implants.
