Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All pediatric surgical patients undergoing arterial cannulation for monitoring purposes from August 15, 2022 to August 9, 2023, and who are less than 8 years old.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. older than 8 years old; 2. had arterial catheterization performed for diagnostic purposes (e.g., cardiac catheterization); 3. underwent arterial line placement outside of the perioperative setting (such as in the intensive care unit).
