Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for the research group: age = 18 years;a confirmed diagnosis of bronchial asthma, a non-acute exacerbation period (no exacerbation of current asthma symptoms, unplanned clinic attendance, hospitalization, etc. in the previous 4 weeks), able to provide informed written consent.Inclusion criteria for the control group: age = 18 years;normal lung function;no history of chronic respiratory disease;no infections and respiratory illnesses in the past 4 weeks;able to provide informed written consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria:significant respiratory or cardiovascular diseases such as COPD and pulmonary embolism;any dyspnea that cannot be explained by asthma;neuromuscular diseases involving the whole body;uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes;active tumor;pregnancy;pleural effusion/peritoneal effusion;past thoracic deformity or thoraco-abdominal surgery;history of mechanical ventilation;history of alcohol abuse; using drugs that affect muscle function in the past 6 months;received pulmonary rehabilitation within the past 3 months;inability to understand or cooperate in completing inspections;people with contraindications to lung function,such as cardiac disease (acute myocardial infarction within 1 week, Systemic hypotension or severe hypertension, Marked atrial/ventricular arrhythmias, Uncompensated heart failure, Uncontrolled pulmonary hypertension, Acute cor pulmonale, Clinically unstable pulmonary embolism, History of syncope associated with forced exhalation/cough); Brain aneurysm; Brain surgery within 4 weeks; Concussion with persistent symptoms; Eye surgery within 1 week; Sinus surgery or middle ear surgery or infection within 1 week; Thoracic surgery or abdominal surgery within 4 weeks; Late pregnancy; Active respiratory/systemic infection; A medical condition that can easily spread an infection, such as hemoptysis, heavy discharge, or damage to the mouth.
