Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 100 patients with ASA physical status I-II aged 18-65 years, weighing between 40 and 80 kg,and scheduled for elective surgery during general anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Body weight exceeding 20% of the ideal body weight; 2. History of liver or kidney impairment; 3. Increased intracranial, intraabdominal or intraocular pressure before operation, depression, smoking, asthma, chronic cough, upper respiratory tract infection within one month of surgery; 4. Use of medications that could interfere with this study such as angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, antidepressants, bronchodilators or steroidsa; 5. History of gastroesopha-geal reflux, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease.
