Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patient group inclusion criteria: 1. Inpatients or outpatients; 2. 18 to 60 years old; 3. Those who met the diagnostic criteria of DSM-5 for depression with or without melancholy characteristics and did not take psychotropic drugs; 4. Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD-24)>= 20; 5. No antibiotics were used in the last 3 months; 6. Informed consent signed by the patient himself or his legal guardian. Inclusion criteria for healthy control group: 1. Healthy subjects matched with the patient group in gender, age and education level were selected, HAMD-24< 8 points; 2. No serious heart, brain or kidney disease; 3. No history of alcohol or drug abuse; 4. No family history of mental illness; 5. No antibiotics were used in the last 3 months; 6. The informed consent is signed by the applicant or his/her legal guardian.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Comorbidities with other mental disorders, organic brain disease and endocrine disease, etc.; 2. Had serious heart, liver and kidney abnormalities; 3. Pregnant and nursing women; 4. Had history of alcohol and drug dependence; 5. Had a history of manic or hypomanic episodes; 6. Antibiotics have been used in the last 3 months.
