18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age range of 18 to 75 years without sex predilection; 2. All rectal cancer patients were pathologically diagnosed by endoscopic biopsy and evaluated by computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) before surgery; 3. Preoperative MRI showed that lateral lymph node enlargement is clinically suspicious for metastasis (the largest short diameter > 7 mm); 4. Patients received laparoscopic total mesorectal excision plus lateral lymph node dissection at our hospital.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients' data were not complete; 2. Patients have distant metastases at diagnosis and was not suitable for surgical treatment; 2. Patients show poor compliance and loss to follow up.
