Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Eligible participants were between 18 and 80 years of age with histologically confirmed gastric adenocarcinoma according to the Eighth Edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system, with a clinical stage of cT2-4aN+M0 at preoperative evaluation. The clinical TNM stage was determined using computed tomography (CT) scan and endoscopic ultrasonography. All patients received 2-4 cycles of platinum-based chemotherapy regimens preoperatively. Surgery was performed 3 to 6 weeks after the completion of preoperative chemotherapy.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: neoadjuvant radiotherapy, lymph node metastasis outside the extent of the D2 resection, cT4b, intraoperative frozen pathology confirmed distant metastasis, loss to follow-up.
