Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients age more than 18 years old; 2. Provision of written informed consent by participants or surrogates voluntarily; 3. Patients with symptomatic unilateral or bilateral CSDH requiring burr-hole evacuation; 4. Predominantly hypodense or isodense on CT imaging (or chronic hematoma on MRI).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with ipsilateral hematomas who had undergone cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) diversion within 6 months of presentation; 2. CSDH requiring surgical treatment other than burr-hole evacuation (eg, craniotomy); 3. Patients who have undergone any prior intracranial surgery; 4. Patients not needing surgical treatment because of the size of CSDH or clinical status of patients; 5. Patients' postoperative cooperation is suspected to be insufficient for drain usage (ie, disoriented or semiconscious patient); 6. Patient has an acute infection that requires antibiotic treatment.
