Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria for patients with periodontitis: (1) Severe periodontitis, stage III or IV ( European Union of Periodontology and American Society of Periodontology new classification ), PD >= 6mm, maximum interdental attachment loss >= 5mm, X-ray alveolar bone resorption more than 1/3 of root length; (2) Age: 18-60 years; (3) Patients did not receive periodontal treatment within 6 months; (4) No history of orthodontic treatment ; (5) No root caries; (6) There are no obvious periodontal stimulation factors in the oral cavity, such as malocclusion, obvious wear and bad restorations; (7) No vitamin D was taken. 2. Inclusion criteria for patients with type 2 diabetes: (1) Age: 18–60 years old; (2) The diagnostic criteria of type 2 diabetes can meet one of the following three items: 1) With typical diabetic symptoms (thirsty, polyuria and polyphagia, unexplained weight loss ), fasting blood glucose >= 7.0mmol/L or postprandial blood glucose >= 11.1mmol/L; 2) No typical symptoms, only fasting blood glucose >= 7.0mmol/L or postprandial blood glucose >= 11.1mmol/L should be repeated, still, reach the above value, can be diagnosed with diabetes; 3) No typical symptoms, only fasting blood glucose >= 7.0mmol/L or postprandial blood glucose >= 11.1mmol/L, glucose tolerance test 2 hours blood glucose >= 11.1mmol/L can be diagnosed with diabetes.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Smoking; 2. Female pregnancy and lactation; 3. Have taken antibiotics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in recent three months; 4. Other systemic diseases that affect periodontal tissue ( hypertension, AIDS, rheumatoid, tumor, etc. ).
