Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: PJI was defined according to the Musculoskeletal Infection Society (MSIS) criteria. Aseptic implant failure was included, with septic loosening with chronic joint pain without signs of inflammation. According to the above inclusion and exclusion criteria, the revision patients were divided into two groups in this study: the aseptic revision group and the PJI revision group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with periprosthetic fractures or dislocations were excluded because most of these complications were caused by external forces rather than infection. In addition, patients with systemic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, malignancy, and pulmonary and urinary tract infections were also excluded from this study.
