Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria for the MCI group: based on the criteria for mild neurocognitive impairment in the US DSM-IV, further modified with the results of previous studies. The criteria were as follows: (1) Age 65 years or older; (2) Mild cognitive impairment on subjective and objective examination; (3) Duration of memory loss >3 months; (4) Impaired cognitive function, i.e., MMSE score <=17 in the illiterate group, <=20 in the primary group, and <=24 in the secondary school or higher group; (5) Reduced life and social functioning: ADL score <=18 in GDS grade 2-3; (6) Not meeting the diagnostic criteria for dementia; (7) Excluding special causes of cognitive decline. Those who also met the above 7 criteria were defined as MCI and included in this study. 2. Inclusion criteria for the control group: normal controls were selected from the same community according to 1:1 matching, controls were of the same age +/- 2 years as the cases, same-sex, same education level, no serious physical disease, could complete neuropsychological tests, memory and cognitive examinations were normal, and no habit of taking DHA intervention preparations within one year.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Exclusion criteria for MCI group: those with the following diseases or symptoms will be excluded: (1) Brain tumor; (2) Parkinson's disease; (3) Other medical conditions that are severe or unstable that can affect brain function or affect the evaluation of cognitive function; (4) History of acute cerebrovascular disease within 3 months; (5) Current diagnosis of active epilepsy; (6) Patients diagnosed with dementia at baseline survey; (7) Those with severe perceptual impairment that prevented completion of cognitive function measures; (8) History of depression, mania, delirium, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders; (9) Those taking DHA interventions within the last year were excluded.
