Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Phase 1 (1) moderate to ultra-major elective surgery (2) have senior secondary or tertiary education with an ability to read a newspaper in English and Chinese Phase 2 moderate to ultra-major elective surgery, without restricting the level of education

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a history of dementia, psychosis or neurological disease affecting cognition, visual disorders or other physical impairment, and obstetric patients.
