Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All patients were diagnosed with focal epilepsy according to the classification and diagnosis criteria of epilepsy and epilepsy syndrome of the International League Against Epilepsy; 2. The children were >=4 and <=17 years old; 3. All children had more than 2 seizures in the first 3 months of treatment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Head computed tomography (CT) and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed space-occupying lesions, vascular malformations, and other progressive neurological lesions; 2. Patients with heart, liver, kidney, thyroid, and blood diseases; 3. Non-epileptic seizures; 4. Other treatable causes (such as metabolic disorders, poisoning, etc.); 5. Patients with antiepileptic drug treatment contraindications.
