Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Nasal and mouth breathing patients attending the Orthodontic Department of Tianjin Stomatological Hospital. Nasal breathing volunteers: 1. No nasal or pharyngeal disease; 2. Normal development of upper and lower jaw; 3. Good occlusion relationship; 4. Adult males. Mouth breathing volunteers: 1. Adult male patients with mouth breathing; 2. History of nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal obstruction; 3. The high arch of palatal lid is obvious.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Nasal breathing volunteers: 1. Bad oral habits; 2. Temporomandibular joint disease; 3. History of orthodontic or orthognathic treatment. Mouth breathing volunteers: 1. The patient has a systemic disease other than respiratory disease; 2. The patient has space between the maxillary right and left first molars; 3. Patient's height and body mass index are not within the normal range; 4. Patient has a history of orthodontic or orthognathic treatment.
