Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18 years old or more; 2. Tibetan highlanders or Tibetan settlers living at high altitudes(altitude>=2500 meters) for more than 20 years; 3. American Society of Anesthesiologists classification (ASA)I-III; 4. Elective total hip arthroplasty, total knee arthroplasty, and hip fracture surgery under general anesthesia; 5. Signed the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Lived continuously in plain areas (<=500m) for more than 180 days before surgery; 2. Existing cerebral disease or a history of neurological and psychiatric disease, including stroke, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, and psychosis; 3. Existing cognitive dysfunction as evidenced by the MMSE scores<24; 4. Severe hearing or visual impairment; 5. Had undergone general anesthesia within the past 30 days.
