Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18 years and above; 2. With ASA status of I-III; 3. Preoperative Mallampati score 1-2; 4. With elective thoracic surgery performed under general anesthesia and insertion of a double-lumen bronchial catheter required; 5. Who were smokers for a period of more than five years and consumed at least five cigarettes a day without interrupting the habit before surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients were suffering from sore throat, hoarseness, upper airway infection, and vocal cords injury; 2. With a history of cervical spine diseases and had a presence of tracheostomy; 3. Were unwilling to cooperate with the research; 4. Have been intubated for more than one time.
