Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery performed between 1 October 2012 to 1 October 2019 in The Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University; 2. Levels of serum NT-proBNP and creatinine were collected within 30 days before surgery and within seven days after surgery during their hospital stay.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Aged less than 18 years; 2. ASA grade VI; 3. Surgeon-administrated regional anaesthesia; 4. Organ transplant, cardiac, urological (including kidney transplantation), obstetrical surgery; 5. Lack of serum creatinine or covariate data; 6. Preoperative acute myocardial infarction before surgery; 7. Glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <15 ml min-1 1.73 m^2 and proteinuria before surgery; 8. Incomplete patients data, cannot be analyzed.
