Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed as drug-resistant epilepsy according to the International Alliance against Epilepsy (ILAE): 1. Failure to reduce the frequency of seizures to no more than four times per month after taking at least two antiepileptic drugs for more than three months; 2. The frequency of spikes or slow-wave discharges in the epileptic stage was at least 3 or more per minute, and the patient did not change his medication regimen in the past 2 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a history of extensive structural damage, stroke, and encephalitis; 2. Patients with other neurological and psychiatric disorders and who did not consistently take medication; 3. Patients who could not receive MRI scan or had MRI contraindications; 4. Women who had a recent pregnancy plan or in perinatal period; 5. Patients consumed illicit drugs and heavy alcohol.
