Experimental group:neonates were lying with the nesting positions and exposed to 50dB white noise

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Scheduled for arterial blood sampling; 2. Neonates with gestational age between 37 - 42 weeks and the postnatal age < 28 days; 3. Having at least one painful procedure after birth; 4. Whose parents or legal guardians signed informed consent forms.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. If they had a condition that might influence their physiological response to pain, such as congenital anomalies, surgery; 2. Receiving oxygen or mechanical ventilation; 3. Used sedatives or analgesics within 48 hours before operation; 4. Had hearing impairment or with any other condition preventing them from listening to the white noise.
