Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Good general health and oral hygiene; 2. Permanent dentition, aged 18-45 years; 3. Diagnosed with malocclusion, requiring orthodontic treatment, closing the edentulous space of the mandibular first molar, and the alveolar bone shrinking at grade III or IV (Cawhood & Howell classification criteria).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The third molar is missing or cannot be preserved; 2. Other systemic diseases such as bleeding disorders or diabetes; 3. Long-term use of drugs that affect bone metabolism and lead to gingival hyperplasia; 4. Active periodontal disease; 5. Pregnant or lactating patients.
