Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. At least 18 years old; 2. Critically ill patients admitted to the ICU of our hospital in the past 4 years (2016-2020); 3. Serum test of thyroid function was done at least once after admission to ICU.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known or suspected hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid disease and medical history (including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroiditis, goiter, Sheehan syndrome, excluding thyroid nodules); 2. Thyroid hormone drug application and treatment affecting thyroid function before transfer to ICU or measurement of thyroid function (eg methimazole, propylthiouracil, levothyroxine sodium tablets, lithium carbonate, amiodarone, iodine-containing contrast agents, etc.).
