Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of severe pneumonia (1) Mechanical ventilation is required for endotracheal intubation; (2) Vasoactive drugs are still required for septic shock after active fluid resuscitation. (3) Respiratory rate >= 30 times/min; (4) Oxygenation index =7.14 mmol/L; (8) Systolic blood pressure <90mmHg requires aggressive fluid resuscitation. 2. Need to use invasive ventilator to assist ventilation therapy. 3. The patients themselves or their legal guardians agree to participate in this clinical study and sign the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Abnormal respiratory mechanics caused by previous lung resection and chest wall deformity; 2. Neuromuscular junction-related diseases, diaphragm paralysis, etc.; 3. There are respiratory center inhibitory factors; 4. Pregnancy; 5. Pleural effusion>3cm, pneumothorax, mediastinal emphysema; 6. Abdominal hypertension syndrome; 7. Presence of flail chest or rib fractures.
