Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Case-control study: (1) Patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer for the first time in the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University during 2020.01-2021.12; (2) Aged 18-80 years; (3) The first confirmed diagnosis of colorectal cancer by clinical examination; (4) Enhanced abdominal CT examination should be completed within two weeks before and after admission. 2. Cohort study: (1) Patients who were diagnosed with colorectal cancer for the first time in the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from 2022.01 to 2022.06 and planned to undergo surgical treatment; (2) Aged 18-80 years; (3) Confirmed diagnosis of colorectal cancer by clinical examination; (4) CT scan of abdomen (unenhanced or enhanced) was performed in our hospital within 1 month before surgery; (5) Long-term adherence to treatment and follow-up can be maintained.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Case-control study exclusion criteria: (1) Diseases of the spine and limbs; (2) Serious organ dysfunction such as heart, lung, liver and kidney; (3) History of previous abdominal surgery; (4) Those with cognitive impairment and mental illness. 2. Exclusion criteria for cohort studies: (1) There is sarcopenia at the time of admission; (2) Patients with multiple primary malignant tumors; (3) Complicated with serious organ dysfunction such as heart, lung, liver, and kidney; (4) Combined with spinal and limb bone and joint diseases; (5) History of previous abdominal surgery; (6) Combined distant metastasis; (7) Those with cognitive dysfunction and mental illness.
