Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The patients who needed mechanical ventilation and were diagnosed as sepsis or septic shock (sepsis 3.0 standard) in the emergency department from November 2021 to June 2022 were collected. The hemodynamic changes were monitored by pulse indicator Continuous Cardiac Output (PiCCO) and the treatments were guided.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnancy, age less than 18 years patients with liver failure and irreversible underlying disease such as end-stage neoplasm.
