Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification II-III; 2. The diagnostic criteria are in line with the ''Trial Plan for Standardized Endoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive Tract Varicose Vein and Hemorrhage (2009)''; 3. The morphology of esophageal varices is grades GII to GIII; 4. Child-Pugh classification of liver function B-C; 5. Platelets > 50 x 10^9/L; 6. The diameter of varicose veins is 0.3-2cm.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy is contraindicated; 2. Uncorrected hemorrhagic shock; 3. Portal cavernous degeneration; 4. Budd-Chiari syndrome; 5. Liver tumor; hepatic encephalopathy >= grade 2; 6. Severe cardiopulmonary and renal insufficiency; 7. Suffering from apnea syndrome; 8. Mental illness or receiving psychotropic medication; 9. Alcohol, opioid or sedative-hypnotic addiction; 10. Obesity (body mass index (BMI) > 30kg/m^2); 11. Allergic to the drugs used in the study; 12. For non-initial EVL, the operation time exceeds 40 minutes.
