Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Moderate or severe carotid stenosis (symptomatic carotid stenosis with stenosis >=50% and asymptomatic carotid stenosis with stenosis >=70%) diagnosed by head and neck CTA angiography; 2. Meet the indications for surgery, voluntarily choose to undergo carotid endarterectomy and sign the informed consent form for surgery; and there are no contraindications to surgery; 3. Have complete information on MRI before and after surgery (within 3 days) and 3 months after surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Contraindications for MRI examination; 2. Severe cardiopulmonary insufficiency, unable to perform carotid endarterectomy, or family members and patients choose carotid artery stent implantation; 3. There is a severe systemic genetic or acquired disease in the past medical history (especially severe mental/neurological disease and/or severe stroke); 4. Patients who failed to undergo postoperative follow-up.
