Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing high-risk surgery under general anesthesia; (expected postoperative mortality greater than 5% is defined as high-risk surgery) 2. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification II to IV; 3. Aged over 18 years old.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Refuse to participate in this research; 2. Emergency surgery; 3. Neurological, cognitive or psychiatric disorders, including stroke with language impairment, dementia, and schizophrenia, or any condition that makes meaningful postoperative visits impossible; 4. Skin diseases that cannot tolerate non-invasive electrodes.
