Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: At or after 35 completed weeks of gestation, were eligible for study enrolment. Gestational age was based on best obstetric estimate.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known major congenital anomalies; 2. Decide to implement comfort care; 3. Anticipated high-level recovery; 4. Inactive neonates contaminated with amniotic fluid and meconium (if the neonatal muscle tone or breathing is weakened, the heart rate is less than 100 beats per minute, or both, the neonate is considered to be inactive at birth); 5. Participated in other delivery room intervention studies before.
