Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ROP was diagnosed and classified according to the Chinese screening guide. Infants were screened if they were born at gestational age of less than 32 weeks,or their birth weight was less than 2000 g,or if they had an unstable clinical course as determined by the infant’s neonatologist. The diagnosis and treatment standard were in accordance with the international classification of ROP revisited. ROP treatment was performed in all cases of prethreshold type 1 ROP or threshold ROP.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who had stage 4 or Stage 5 ROP or aggressive posterior ROP in either eye or those who underwent any prior treatment for ROP.
