Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18-65 years; 2. Meet the MDD diagnostic criteria of DSM-5; 3. Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-24) total score >= 20 points.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Other mental disorders (such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder); 2. Serious physical disease (such as tumor, heart disease, organic brain disease, liver disease, kidney disease); 3. Acute or chronic infection, allergy or autoimmune disease; 4. Antibiotics, corticosteroids or anti-inflammatory drugs have been used in the past 6 weeks; 5. Patients during pregnancy or puerperium; 6. Diagnosis of psychoactive substance abuse/dependence, including alcohol, tobacco or drugs; 7. Received antidepressant or antipsychotic medication within the past 4 weeks.
