Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients who meet the requirements of the National Basic Public Health Service Type 2 Diabetes Health Management Specification; 2. The last fasting blood glucose level > 8.0 mmol/L or glycosylated hemoglobin > 7.0% or newly diagnosed T2DM; 3. Aged >= 55 years; 4. Have basic reading and writing skills, sufficient cognitive ability and physical ability; 5. Living with a spouse; 6. Willingness to participate in the research, informed consent; 7. Eligible spouse (1) Married or living with a T2DM patient; (2) No mental or physical dysfunction that interferes with the research; (3) willing to participate in the research, informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who previously participated in T2DM education courses; 2. We further exclude couples that both have diabetes, for a clear distinction between patients and spouses.
