Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with migraine without aura were diagnosed according to the International Classification of Headache Disorders III (ICHD-3 beta); 2.Aged 18 to 65 years, right handedness; 3.A history of migraine for at least 1 year; 4.The frequency of migraine attack more than twice a month; 5.No acupuncture treatment or medication was used within 24 hours after the acute onset of migraine, and no preventive treatment for migraine during the past 3 months; 6.Sign written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Other types of primary headaches such as chronic migraine, tension-type headaches, nerve headache and cluster headache; 2.Any other secondary headaches or neurological diseases-headaches caused by intracranial diseases such as otolaryngological diseases, depression and Parkinson's disease; 3.Relatively severe life-threatening diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, acute infectious diseases, hematological diseases, endocrine diseases, allergies or hemoptysis; 4.Use of prophylactic migraine medication and acupuncture treatment during the past three months. 5.Pregnancy, lactation and preparation for pregnancy; 6.Smoking, alcohol and drug abuse; 7.Patients with pain within 3 days before MRI scan; 8.Any contraindications of acupuncture treatment, such as hematological diseases and local infections, etc.; 9.Any contraindications for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam, such as metal implants in the body, claustrophobia, etc.
