Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients were treated at a starting PLD chemotherapy dose of 40 mg/m2 every 4 weeks (total divided into two days). Eligibility criteria included age older than 18 years; A performance status of two or less on the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG); willing to participate; and no contraindication to chemotherapy (adequate bone marrow, renal, cardiac and liver function).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Ineligible patients included those who had previous history or treatment for HFS, pregnant or lactating women, hypersensitivity to pyridoxine, the presence of any other malignancy, serious illness, or medical condition, with pre-existing dermatological condition affecting the hands or feet that may limit the interpretation of results and with a history of hypersensitivity reactions attributed to a conventional formulation of doxorubicin HCL or the components of PLD. Patients with a history of cardiac disease or clinical evidence of congestive heart failure were ineligible.
