Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. First-visit Chinese Han children aged 9 to10 years; 2. The children with deep arrested deciduous molar caries (>2), which hadnt invaded into the dental pulp yet; 3. The children that went to the hospital with their parents, who could talk with the researchers in Mandarin.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. The children with temporomandibular joint disorders; 2. The children that were receiving oral emergency treatment; 3. The children that were receiving acupuncture and moxibustion therapy; 4. The children with external auditory meatus diseases; 5. The children that had taken analgesics; 6. The children with mental disorders; 7. The children with blood coagulation disorders; 8. The children that refused to be obedient; 9. The children with disorders of mental development; 10. The children who, as well as their guardians, refused to get involved in the study.
