Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria in brief were non-diabetic healthy young adults aged 18-40 years old, body mass index (BMI) within the range of 19-23.9 kg/m2, fasting glucose level <=6 mmol/L, who were able to tolerate at least 10 hours of fasting.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were pregnancy and breastfeeding or subjects with known neoplastic, metabolic, digestive, endocrine, mental diseases or taking medications affecting glucose tolerance; night-time or heavy physical workers or persons with insomnia, eating disorders or on a ketogenic diet within the last 6 months.
