Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 18 years; 2. Patients with two or more fractures in 3 or more adjacent ribs and paradoxical breathing due to lack of chest wall support.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who died in the prehospital stage; 2. Patients who have not received hospital treatment; 3. Patients with multiple rib fractures caused by cardiopulmonary resuscitation; 4. Patients who need mechanical ventilation due to craniocerebral and spinal injuries leading to respiratory dysfunction; 5. Patients who were transferred from other hospitals during treatment; 6. Patients who are transferred to other hospitals during treatment; 7. Patients who cannot obtain demographic data and physical and chemical examination data related to this study; 8. Combined with congenital thoracic deformity, severe scoliosis, tumor, failure of important organs and other diseases that may affect the research results; 9. Patients who do not cooperate with treatment, or have low compliance with follow-up.
