Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >=65 years; 2. Patients undergoing painless gastroscopy; 3. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification I or II.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe dysfunction of the heart, lung, liver, and kidney; 2. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or recent attacks of asthma; 3. Pregnancy or lactation; 4. Coagulation abnormalities; 5. Allergy to the drugs used in this study; 6. Hypotension (systolic blood pressure=160 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure>=100 mm Hg); 7. Bradycardia (heart rate<=50 beats/min); 8. Inability to give informed consent; 9. Hypoxemia (SpO2 <90%); 10. Atrioventricular block; 11. Psychiatric diseases; 12. Full stomach, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, hiatal hernia, reflux esophagitis, esophagus and gastric varices; 13. Emergency gastroscopy; 14. Acute upper respiratory tract infection; 15. Cardiac arrhythmia; 16. Epilepsy.
