Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients should be diagnosed as thalassemia intermedia by genotype and clinic manifestation; 2. Patients should be aged between 5 and 15 years old; 3. Informed consent should be signed before the start of this clinical trial.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Any treatment such as blood transfusion, hydroxycarbamide, or yisuishengxue granules in the 2 months prior to this clinical trial; 2. Patients with severe pulmonary or cardiac diseases, abnormal liver function, and other serious primary diseases such as blood diseases, cerebrovascular, cardiovascular, liver, kidney, tumors, etc. 3. Patients who are allergic to hydroxycarbamide; 4. Patients with mental diseases; 5. Patients who took part in other kinds of clinical trials one month prior to this trial; 6. Other conditions that investigators consider to not be suitable for this clinical trial.
