Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria for patients with depressive episode with suicidal symptoms and receiving MECT combined with conventional antidepressant therapy: (1) Aged 18to 40 years; (2) 15 males and 15 females; (3) Meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for depressive episode; (4) The Scale for Suicide Ideation (SSI) score >0; (5) Not receiving MECT, transcranial magnetic stimulation or other physical therapy in the past 2 weeks; (6) The clinician recommended MECT treatment, and the patient or guardian signed the informed consent for MECT treatment; (7) Able to complete magnetic resonance examination and cognitive function assessment; (8) Obtain the written informed consent of the person or his or her family members. 2. Inclusion criteria for patients with depressive episode who received conventional antidepressant therapy without suicidal symptoms (1) Aged 18to 40 years; (2) 15 males and 15 females; (3) Meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for depressive episode; (4) No suicidal Ideation or behavior, and the Scale for Suicide Ideation (SSI) score =0; (5) Not receiving MECT, transcranial magnetic stimulation or other physical therapy in the past 2 weeks; MECT and other physical therapy are not recommended by clinicians. (6) Able to complete magnetic resonance examination and cognitive function assessment; (7) Obtain the written informed consent of the person or his or her family members.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Exclusion criteria for the group of patients with depressive episode with suicidal symptoms receiving MECT combined with conventional antidepressant therapy: (1) Previous history of cranial disease, brain injury, epileptic seizures, and other neurological diseases; (2) A history of serious systemic diseases of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and immune system; (3) A history of alcohol and morphine abuse; (4) Both propofol and etomidate were allergic, and succinylcholine was allergic; Other MECT contraindications; (5) Pregnant women and lactating women, and other related somatic diseases affecting the secretion of estradiol, testosterone and cortisol. (6) Patients with contraindications, such as cardiac pacemakers in the body, arterial clips in the body, etc. 2.Exclusion criteria for depressive episode patients receiving conventional antidepressant therapy without symptoms of suicide attempt: (1) Previous history of cranial disease, brain injury, epileptic seizures, and other neurological diseases; (2) A history of serious systemic diseases of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and immune system; (3) A history of alcohol and morphine abuse; (4) Pregnant women and lactating women, and other related somatic diseases affecting the secretion of estradiol, testosterone and cortisol; (5) Patients with contraindication by MRI scan, such as cardiac pacemakers and arterial clips in the body, etc.
