Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Preterm infants with birth weight between 500-1499 g; 2.Severe respiratory distress at birth and require resuscitation or failure to response to NCPAP or to high nasal flow therapy within 4 hours after birth. Failure to NCPAP will be defined as any one of the followings: (1)Requirement of FIO2>0.3; (2)PCO2>=60 mmHg; (3) Three depressions of severe inspiration; (4)apnea. These infants are justified to receive surfactant therapy by current medical standard.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Severe congenital abnormalities; 2.Lethal cardiopulmonary status at birth.
