Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. CSDH patients with convex brain involvement, thickness less than 10 mm, or space-occupying effects (flattened cortex or midline shift); 2. In good physical condition.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. CSDH that had a focal location (confined to the frontal or temporal base or the interhemispheric space without cerebral convexity involvement); 2. CSDH that developed with underlying conditions (vascular lesions, brain tumor, arachnoid cyst, spontaneous intracranial hypotension, or previous craniotomy); 3. Life expectancy of less than 6 months.
