Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18 to 60 years, gender: male or female; 2. Meet the diagnostic criteria of alopecia areata in Chinese Clinical Dermatology and the diagnostic criteria of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type in Chinese Medicine Diagnostics; 3. Severity of alopecia areata can be assessed as S2 or S3 with reference to the criteria established by the American Baldness Association guidelines; 4. Patients that can adhere to the medication and follow-up and sign informed consent; 5. Without systemic treatment for hair loss within 3 months and topical treatment for hair loss within 1 month; 6. Without serious liver or kidney dysfunction and water-electrolyte disorders.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with severe heart, liver and kidney diseases and psychiatric disorders; 2. Allergic or contraindicated to Shaoyao-Gancao Decoction; 3. Participated in other clinical trials in the last 3 months; 4. Any other condition that the investigator considers unsuitable for participation in the trial.
