Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients referred to a tertiary care center with symptoms of chronic constipation and difficult defecation, and who fulfilled the Rome IV criteria for functional constipation, were enrolled in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients <18 years old and those who had undergone rectoanal surgery (except hemorrhoidectomy).
