Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients scheduled to undergo a routine diagnostic or therapeutic gastroscopy with no history of drug allergy; 2. No serious respiratory, circulatory, hepatic, or renal dysfunction or endocrine disease, American Anesthesiologists Association (ASA) class I or II; 3. Aged >= 60 years; 4. Body Mass Index (BMI) 18-28 kg/m2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Paients who are allergic to the drugs used in this study; 2. Severe cardiac dysfunction: NYHA cardiac functions grade 3-4, a history of recent myocardial infarction or cerebral infarction, severe conduction block, or malignant arrhythmia; 3. Renal failure or liver cirrhosis; 4. Epilepsy and other mental illnesses, a history of addiction such as opiates and other analgesics and/or tranquilizers (hypnotics); 5. Severe lung infection or upper respiratory tract infection. 6. Patients who are refused to be included.
