Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Autism group: The children were diagnosed with ASD, which met the criteria of the fifth edition (DMS-5) of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. An experienced developmental and behavioral pediatrician used the Child Autism Rating Scale (CARS) to further confirm this diagnosis; 2. Control group: recruit healthy and normal children (not related to autistic individuals) whose gender and age match the children with ASD from the children undergoing physical examination in the Department of Pediatrics of Shenyang Children's Hospital. The recruiter did not receive antibiotics, antifungal therapy, probiotic therapy, or any other medications that might affect the gut microbiota within 3 months before being included in the study. At the same time, if children with autism have siblings, they will be included in the control group after obtaining parental consent and signing an informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children with ASD have a history of Rett syndrome, cerebral palsy, other congenital diseases, and acute and chronic affective diseases in the past 3 months.
