Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: From March 2021 to December 2023, inpatients or outpatients in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, and Run Run Shaw Hospital, Affiliated to Medical College of Zhejiang University, met the diagnostic criteria of COPD in the guidelines (GOLD guidelines).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe esophageal varices, corrosive gastritis, esophagitis, nasal esophagus obstruction, cardiac stenosis or obstruction; 2. Patients with severe coagulation abnormalities who cannot use nasogastric tube for nasal feeding; 3. There are factors that affect pressure measurement: chest drainage, abdominal infection, abdominal hypertension, abdominal surgery within the past month; 4. Aged > 80 years or < 18 years; 5. Pregnancy; 6. Have used neuromuscular blockers within 24 hours; 7. Known deformity or injury of the diaphragm; 8. Known neuromuscular diseases and central respiratory diseases; 9. There is a surgical dressing under the right costal arch, which affects the ultrasound examination; 10. Paralysis of one side of the diaphragm (on a chest radiograph, one side of the diaphragm is higher than the other side by more than 2.5cm); 11. The patient or family members refuse to be examined.
