Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients older than 65 years and scheduled for major gastrointestinal surgery were considered.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Refused to participate in the study; 2. Had severe dementia, language impairment, severe hearing or visual impairment, coma, end-stage disease and other conditions could not complete part of the preoperative assessment; 3. Had cognitive function assessment (defined as mini mental state scale) could not be completed Examination (MMSE) score: illiterate (uneducated) less than 18, primary school (education years 6 years) less than 25; 4. Had used hydrocortisone or glucocorticoid; 5. Had suffered from hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis diseases or oral diseases such as Cushing's disease; 6. Unable to cooperate independently; 7. Within 24 hours before operation the scale assessment and (or) ERAS rehabilitation training were not completed.
